Former Rep. Ken Buck defies easy categorization. He has a unique background, growing up on the East Coast but feeling more at home on his uncle’s Wyoming ranch. Despite his Princeton education, he chose to live in the Rocky Mountain West after graduating. Buck, a former Freedom Caucus conservative, voted to certify the 2020 election and believes some charges against Donald Trump should be taken seriously. He resigned from his seat in March 2024 due to dysfunction in Congress. In an interview, Buck discussed his views on the Republican MAGA wing, Speaker Mike Johnson, attacks on the Department of Justice, his issues with the Affordable Care Act, and the importance of bipartisanship.
